Who's sponsoring this project?
The Antwerp All-Weather Track Campaign Committee, which is a subgroup of the Athletic Booster Club and the Antwerp Community Development Committee.
Who will own the track?
The Antwerp Board of Education will own the track. However, all community members will be encouraged to use the facility to excercise.
Why do we need an all-weather track?
The track and field teams do not have any home meets during the season. For their competitions they must travel to other schools. If we obtain an all-weather track, we will cut down on traveling costs.
Being the only school in our conference with a stone track, many athletes cannot properly train for their events. This can put our athletes at a distinct disadvantage and be a big inconvenience at times. Many of our athletes must go to neighboring schools' tracks to be able to properly train.
Having an eight-lane track will give Antwerp the nicest track in Paulding county. An eight-lane track will also open the door to host major track and field meets in the future.
An all-weather track is the first step to dressing up and improving the physical appearance of Archer Field
If given the opportunity...
If given the opportunity we'll be able to represent and show our community in a positive and progressive way. So please help us to improve our school for years to come. |
