Industrial Technology


Industrial Technology I Teacher: Mr. Kemerer
Credit: 1 Prerequisites: Grade 9+

Classroom and shop laboratory activities will involve students in learning the principles and vocabulary of basic mechanical drawing; use of the tools of drafting; accurate measurement; creation and use of blueprints. Student activities will include learning the rules of safe use of hand tools, and work area. Students will plan in detail, complete acceptable drawings, purchase raw materials and complete selected woodworking projects in a craftsman-like manner.


Industrial Technology II Teacher: Mr. Kemerer
Credit: 1 Prerequisites: Grade 10+ (Satisfactory completion of IT-I is required to enroll in this class.)

Students will participate in classroom and shop activities involving drafting and woodworking.  Drafting activities will introduce students to increasingly complicated problems in mechanical drawing, pictorials and sections. Student activities will include using power woodworking tools, and completing selected projects in a craftsman-like manner. 


Maintenance Teacher: Mr. Kemerer
Credit: 1 Prerequisites: Grade 9+

Students in this class may be exposed to a hands-on experience in a variety of maintenance disciplines, including, but not limited to, an introduction to electricity, plumbing, painting, general assembly, and cleaning, as well as some outdoor work with building and grounds.  This class may require students to keep an alternate set of clothes on site (depending on the type of work to be completed that day).


Computer-Aided Design (CAD)  Teacher: Mr. Kemerer
Credit: 1 Prerequisites: Grade 11+
Engineering or architectural drafting (alternate years) is an advanced drafting class for students who plan on furthering their education after high school in a trade or engineering school. Students will use the drafting boards, mechanical arms and CAD software. Students taking the engineering CAD class must have had Industrial Tech I & II.

Small Engines I Teacher: Mr. Kemerer
Credit: 1 Prerequisites: Grade 10+

An introductory class to small engine maintenance and repair.  The class offers lectures and hands-on experience in disassembly, assembly, and repair of Briggs and Stratton engines.


Small Engines II  Teacher: Mr. Kemerer
Credit: 1 Prerequisites: Grade 11+
A continuation of Small Engines class which includes small engine maintenance and repair.  The class offers lectures and hands-on experience in disassembly, assembly, and repair of Briggs and Stratton engines.
