When students apply for scholarships, they should carefully read and follow all the directions that are given in the scholarship application. If the scholarship application requires a letter of recommendation, students should plan ahead and give those people that are writing the recommendations at least a week to two weeks lead time.







Elks National Foundation 2010 Most Valuable Student Scholarship
 
2 first place awards of $60,000 ($15,000 per year for 4 years
 
2 second place awards of $40,000 ($10,000 per year for 4 years
 
2 third place awards of $20,000 ($5,000 per year for 4 years)
 
2 fourth place awards of $16,000 ($4,000 per year for 4 years)

Burger King Scholars awards are $1,000 each and may be used for educational expenses, such as tuition fees and books, during the first year of college or post-secondary vocational/technical school. For studends to qualify, they must be a high school senior and a resident of the U.S., Canada or Puerto rico that meets our criteria below. BURGER KING Scholars Program criteria

Applicant must be a high school senior who:

  • Maintains a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher
  • Works part-time for a miniumum of 10 hours per week or 40 weeks per year
  • Be actively involved in community service activities
  • Demonstrates financial need (1040 form required)
  • Plans to enroll in an accredited two/or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school by fall of the application year.

Applications are available online Sept. 14, 2009 - Feb. 1, 2010. Applications and all accompanying materials must be postmarked no later than Feb. 1, 2010. Instructions on how students can apply re indicated on the attached flyer and can be posted on your high school's scholarship bulletin board. BigSun Scholarship

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athleres are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.

Deadline- June 24, 2010

Amount of award- $500.00

The successful applicant will be a high school senior ot be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community.

Hispainic Awareness Organization Scholarship

Deadline:  3/1/2010


Available to Hispanic high school seniors or older college re-entry students.  Students must be pursing a two or four year degree and must have at least a “C” high school average.  Applications are in the Guidance office.

 

 

ProMedica Health System’s “Fields of Green” Scholarship

Deadline:  12/1/09


Looking for money for college? Enter ProMedica Health System’s Fields of Green scholarship
competition and you and your teammates could each win $5,000! The Fields of Green
scholarship program challenges teams of two – four students in grades 10 – 12 to design
a health and fitness program “kit” for elementary school students, including activities and
