| Comprehensive Math II |
Teacher: Mr. Clemens |
| Credit: 1 |
Prerequisites: Grades 9+ |
| This course is a continuation of Comprehensive Math I with emphasis on geometric concepts. |
| Applied Algebra |
Teacher: Mrs. Jewell |
| Credit: 1 |
Prerequisites: Grades 9+, Successful completion of 8th gradeMath or Comprehensive Math. |
The purpose of this course is to provide the foundation for Algebra I and to develop the algebra skills needed to solve mathematical problems. Topics shall include, the basics in Statistics, Functions and their Graphs, Equations and Inequalities, Graphing and Writing Linear Equations, Systems of Equations and Inequalities, Quadratic Equations and Functions, Exponents and Exponential Functions, Right Triangles and Radical Expressions, Polynomials, Rational Expressions and Functions Applications. College prep class. |
| Algebra I |
Teacher: Mrs. Jewell |
| Credit: 1 |
Prerequisites: Grades 9+ |
The primary consideration is the representation of numbers by symbols and the rules of their operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Strongly recommended for students who plan to go to college, or for students who are achieving at Level I (A’s) in their previous math classes. |
| Geometry |
Teacher: Mr. Clemens |
| Credit: 1 |
Prerequisites: Grades 10+ |
| To develop a thorough knowledge of the main topics of plain and solid geometry. To clarify the part played in mathematics by undefined terms, definitions, and statements, which are accepted without proof. To emphasize the meaning of productive reasoning and of coordinate geometry and the geometric nature of trigonometry. College prep class. Pupils must have satisfactorily completed Algebra I. |
| Algebra II |
Teacher: Mr. Clemens |
| Credit: 1 |
Prerequisites: Grade 11+, Algebra I
and Geometry |
A course, which continues the topics, presented in Algebra I expanding and elaborating on them. Additional topics covered include vectors, circular functions, and right triangle trigonometry. This course will provide background for students going on to study a technical or scientific area, in addition to those who wish to further their mathematics understanding. College prep class. |
| Pre Calculus |
Teacher: Mrs. Reinhart |
| Credit: 1 |
Prerequisites: Grades 11+ |
| A senior level math course designed as a pre-calculus course. Topics covered include number systems, algebraic and trigonometric relations, algebraic series, exponential and logarithmic functions, limits vectors, transformations, conic sections and introductions to calculus. Algebra I, geometry and Algebra II must be completed satisfactorily to enroll in advanced math. College prep. |
| Calculus |
Teacher: Mrs. Reinhart |
| Credit: 1 |
Prerequisites: Grade 12, Algebra I
& II, Geometry, Pre Calculus |
| A senior level math course with an emphasis on
analytic geometry. Topics include derivatives, the integral, sequence and
series, conic sections, and differential equations. Algebra I, II, Geometry,
and Advanced Math must be completed satisfactorily to enroll in Calculus. |
| ACT Prep |
Teacher: Tomlinson |
| Credit: .5 |
Prerequisites: Grades 11+ |
Students will prepare for the American College Testing (ACT) with this course. Advanced testing-taking strategies, concepts and patterns, as well as time management will be presented. Students will reinforce strategies through practice tests that will review prior core/college prep curriculum. Areas covered will include English, Mathematics, Reading Comprehension, and Science reasoning. |
